OJT Weekly Report: Week 3
The third week of my internship at the ICTO focused on user-centered design and transitioning toward more advanced development frameworks. On February 23, I visited the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) for a consultative meeting with Sir Quebec. We discussed the current progress of the ID Generator System, where he provided valuable feedback on user requirements. We identified several areas for improvement and specific functional changes he wished to implement to ensure the system effectively meets the office operational needs.
On February 24, my technical training reached a new milestone. I worked closely with Sir Carlos, who provided mentorship on Laravel, a powerful PHP framework. This guided session was instrumental in helping me understand Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture and how to build more scalable and secure web applications.
The following day, February 25, I continued the development of the system while also assisting with administrative technical tasks. I worked with Ma'am Neng to conduct an inventory check, specifically identifying and recording the Serial Numbers of various computer technology items within the office. This task highlighted the importance of asset management in an IT environment.
I concluded the week on February 26 by focusing on further system coding and refinements based on the previous days' consultations. Throughout the day, I also handled various minor technical tasks assigned by the ICTO staff, maintaining a balance between long-term project development and immediate office support.
