OJT Weekly Report: Week 1

My On-the-Job Training journey at the Information and Communications Technology Office (ICTO) of the City LGU of Kidapawan began on February 11, 2026. The first day was a mix of nervous anticipation and warm welcomes as I joined nine other interns to meet our supervisor, Sir Brenn C. Cacho. During our round-table orientation, we were introduced to the offices vital role in the city digital operations. By the afternoon, we were already integrated into the city's upcoming festivities, receiving a briefing on our first field assignment: managing employee attendance via QR code scanning for the 28th Charter Day.

The following day, February 12, required an early start with a 5:00 AM call time. We were deployed to the Grand Parade to facilitate the digital record-keeping of LGU employees, ensuring every participant was accurately logged into the system. Despite the early dismissal following the parade, the day was credited as a full 8-hour shift due to the special nature of the task.

On February 13, we transitioned back to a regular office schedule. With the major celebration events winding down, the atmosphere was quieter, allowing me to focus on self-directed learning. I spent the day honing my skills in PHP programming, a key language for my Information Systems degree, and also performed a support task by delivering hardware testing equipment to the City Planning Office.

We concluded the week on Sunday, February 15, by rendering special service for the city-wide clean-up drive. Once again, our team handled the QR code attendance system to track employee participation. After the attendance data was secured, we assisted the ICTO staff in the technical decommissioning of the event booths, which involved removing temporary Wi-Fi access points and cabling. Although this was a half-day weekend task, it was credited as a full 8-hour service day, bringing my total credited hours for the first week to 32.
