Location: Information and Communications Technology Office (ICTO), LGU Kidapawan City
Today marked the official start of my On-the-Job Training journey. I arrived at the City Hall at 8:00 AM alongside nine fellow interns assigned to the Kidapawan LGU. The atmosphere was a mix of nerves and excitement; we were warmly welcomed by other OJT students from various colleges across North Cotabato, which made the environment feel collaborative right from the start.
While we waited, a quiet anticipation filled the room as we whispered about our potential assignments and what the coming weeks would hold. Our formal orientation was led by Sir Brenn C. Cacho, the IT Specialist and our designated Intern Supervisor. During the round-table discussion, he outlined the office's expectations and the vital role the ICTO plays in the city's digital infrastructure.
In the afternoon, our first official task was announced in preparation for the upcoming Kidapawan City Charter Day. We were briefed on our responsibility to facilitate the scanning of employee QR codes before the parade begins—a practical application of the city's digital tracking system.
The first day was relatively relaxed, allowing us to acclimatize to the office culture and meet the team. I feel energized and am looking forward to applying my technical skills in a professional government setting.
